UK Team

Our UK team have a focus on product design, and work closely with our UK customers to help them achieve their production objectives using our established Chinese manufacturer network.

Key team members, include:

Adam Herson - Managing Director

Prior to founding China Works, Adam had several years experience as a management consultant, where he specialised in identifying cost efficiencies and developing growth strategies for a range of blue chip UK companies

Adam holds a degree in Management Science from Manchester University and holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) qualification.

Simon Phelps – Head of Design

Simon runs the China Works design team. Simon is an award-winning designer, who has developed products that have appeared on both the BBC and in the Financial Times. Simon's skills include Design for Manufacture, Finite Element Analysis, Concept Development and CAD/CAM

Simon has a degree in Computer Aided Design from Bournemouth University, where he was ranked in the top 5%

Dave Peterson – Designer

David is a talented product design engineer with 4 years of high end industrial experience. His involvement at the conceptual, prototyping and production stage has lead to some high quality products reaching the market place. Specific skills are sheet metal design, mechanism design, prototyping, problem solving and CAD. David holds a BSc (hons) degree in Product Design.

Steven Reece - Designer

Steven enhances the design team by inspiring new and exciting concepts, producing refined styles, ensuring ergonomic correctness, and maintains a solid view of the manufacturing processes. He holds a bachelor of design degree with honours, majoring in industrial design.

China Team

Our China team has a focus on China manufacturing and production, and works closely with our factory partners to process customer orders. Key team members, include:

Alex Hartmann - Head of Operations

Alex runs the operations centre from Shanghai. Alex has several years experience in helping European companies outsource their production to China. Alex received an MBA from the University of Nuremberg and also holds an MSc in Management from the French Grande Ecole in Lyon. Alex is fluent in French, Spanish, English and Chinese, with German as his mother tongue.

Per-Olov Salding - Team manager

Per-Olov has 30 years sales and marketing experience, including time spent as CFO and CEO for international companies operating in Scandinavia.

Most recently Per-Olov has spent 8 years in China, where he has been involved in the import/export of a range of technology, products and services between China and Northern Europe. Per-Olov is responsible for dealing with all 3rd party trading companies

Li Shun Xeng - Manufacturing team

Lao Li has more than 20 years experience in the manufacturing and engineering sector. Lao Li is now the China Works "liaison manager“, dealing with all communications with external manufacturers

Vincent Tao - Manufacturing Team

With several years of experience in export-oriented manufacturer in China and later working as project coordinator for a UK firm, Vincent is now looking after development of new projects in the team. Vincent is fluent in English and has some knowledge of German language as well, thus, helps a lot in the maintenance of customer relationship.

Roger Lu

Roger is a member of our manufacturing team, and is responsible for requesting quotations and managing orders. Prior to working in our team Roger worked for Shanghai Fourth Pharma, where he was worked within the Foreign trade team. Previously Roger went to the Shanghai University for Science and Technology where he studied German and Finance

Rachel He - Manufacturing Team

Rachel, with 5 years of work experience in manufacturing, has good knowledge of production and R&D process related to power tools. She is an expert in application of CAD software such as AutoCAD & Pro/E. Rachel is now in charge of new products development in the team.

Yan Hanbin – Logistics and administration

Hanbin is charge of our logistics department and is responsible for handling export paperwork around shipments. Prior to working Hanbin worked at Shanghai light industrial product for five years and graduated from college with a diploma in International Business Management

Cao Guo Min - Manufacturing team

Cao Gao Min is in charge of product sourcing operations. Cao acquired a broad international background having been in the Shanghai navy for 4 years prior to starting with China Works.

Xiaoxi Long - Manufacturing team

Xiaoxi Long is responsible for organising Chinese business trips. Xiaoxi has several years experience from working as a guide, interpreter and assistant negotiator, organising exhibitions and business trips for French and English speaking visitors all over China
